IRVING, Texas - East Carolina's Emelie Lind was named Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week for the third time this year after finishing in a tie for seventh at the 2008 Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. The Kungsangen, Sweden native recorded her fifth top-10 finish and seventh top-20 placement when she finished five strokes out of first place with a four-over par 220 (75-71-74).

In her 35 career tournaments, she has a 76.93 stroke average, which ranks third all-time in school history. Lind has recorded seven top-10 finishes and 15 top-20's in her career. Lind helped the Pirates (98-21-0), who are nationally ranked 23rd by Golfweek, 26th by Golf World and 29th by Golfstat, to an eighth-place finish in a field of 17 that featured eight teams in the top-50 and all 17 in the top-100.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
EMELIE LIND - East Carolina

Lind recorded her fifth top-10 finish of the season at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., after carding a 54-hole score of 220. She posted rounds of 75, 71 and 74 and helped the Pirates (98-21-0) to an eighth-place finish in of a field of 17 that featured eight teams in the Top 50 and all 17 in the Top 100. Lind's second-round score of 71 ties her career-lowest score, which she set this year at the UNCG-Starmount and Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate events. In her 35 career tournaments, she has a 76.93 stroke average, which ranks third all-time in school history, and has recorded seven Top 10 finishes and 15 Top 20s. This is Lind's third career weekly honor and also the third of her career (Oct. 17, Mar. 12).

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
LARIE LYNCH - MARSHALL

Only a week after tying for fourth at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate, Lynch followed that up with a tie for sixth at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational. Lynch shot a 149 (70-79) in the first two rounds on day one. Her opening round of 70 marked the second-lowest round by any player in the tournament. In her third round, Lynch shot a 77 en route to a 226, tying for sixth place.

DAWN-MARIE CONTAY and LESLIE GRABEMAN - MEMPHIS
Both Conaty and Grabeman shot consecutive rounds of 81 in the 36-hole John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate played in Stockbridege, Ga. to finish in a tie for 44th. Their efforts helped Memphis to a 15th place finish.

LINDSAY TAYLOR - UAB
Taylor paced the Blazers at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational by carding a 54-hole score of 231 (77-74-80) to place 13th in the individual standings. The 231 was a career-best 54-hole total for Taylor, while her second-round score of 74 was also a career best.

MARSHALL
After the third and final round of the Cincinnati Spring Invitational, Marshall took sixth place... Larie Lynch, who was in third place after day one, completed the tournament in a tie for sixth place after shooting a 77 on Saturday... She finished with a three-round total of 226... Twelve strokes behind Lynch was Andrea Grier, who shot a 238, tied for 23rd place... Kristina Garrett and Molly Ginger finished in a tie for 31st with a 241 while Whitney Wolejko finished seven strokes behind Ginger and Garrett with a 248... The team will be back in action in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on April 7th and 8th at the Lady Eagle Invitational before traveling to the Conference USA Tournament in El Paso the following weekend.

MEMPHIS
Memphis finished 15th in the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate... The Tigers shot 657 as a team for the two day event hosted by Georgia State University... The U of M fared 13 strokes better in round two than it did in the opening round... Senior Dawn-Marie Conaty and sophomore Leslie Grabeman lead the way for Memphis finishing in a tie 44th... Both shot consecutive rounds of 81... Junior Rachel Larson fired rounds of 82 and 83 and tied for 57th... Freshman Alexa Porter was the low scorer in round two for the Tigers turning in a 77... Porter finished in a tie for 65th... Memphis will return to action when they compete in the Conference USA Championship April 14-16 in El Paso, Texas... The Tigers are the defending Conference USA champions.

SMU
SMU senior Lacey Jones posted a solid final round at the 35th-annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at The University of Texas Golf Club on Wednesday, March 19, and finished tied for 13th in the tournament... Jones carded a 78 over the final 18 while combating 25-mile per hour winds and finished at 14-over 158 for the 36-hole tournament... Laura Cross's 162 tied her for 32nd, while Paige Martin's 167 was good for 57th... Up next for the `Stangs is the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Okla., April 6.

SOUTHERN MISS
Southern Miss shot a final round 313 to tie for ninth place at the Gainesville Shootout III in Gainesville, Fla., March 15... It was the second straight top 10 finish for the Lady Eagles. They finished second at the USA Jaguar Invitational... Sophomore Samantha Holt finished in a tie for 21st after a closing round 79.. . Freshman Virginia Espejo shot a 75 to tie for 24th-place... Freshman Jennifer Judge shot an 87 to tie for 54th-place... Southern Miss returns to action April 7-8 when it hosts the Lady Eagle Invitational at Canebrake Golf Club.

TULSA
Tulsa captured a one-stroke victory over Florida International at the UALR Women's Golf Classic on March 25... The Hurricane carded a final round 307 and finished the 54-hole event at the Diamante Golf Club with a 912 total... The victory for the Hurricane was the third of the season and second straight tournament win... The Hurricane had three golfers place among the top-15 performers... Tulsa freshman Kelly Fuchik finished in a fourth-place tie with an eight-over par 225 after today's round of 78... Seniors Michaela Cavener and Tara Goedeken finished in 13th and 15th place, respectively... Tulsa returns to the course Apr. 7-8 at the Cane & Cardinal Classic in Miami, Fla.

UAB
UAB finished in 10th place at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational on Saturday at The Plantation Golf Course by carding a final round score of 321 to conclude the three-round tournament at 962... Freshman Lindsay Taylor was the Blazers' top performer, placing 13th in the individual standings with a 54-hole score of 231... Taylor carded rounds of 77-74-80 over the two days... Sophomore Carolyn Cochran and freshman Jaime Brabb tied for 39th place with identical score of 242, while Junior Christina Wentworth tied for the 49th position at 248... UAB will be back in action at the Crimson Tide Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on April 4-6.

UCF
UCF concluded the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Easter Sunday placing 17th in the 54-hole event... Junior May Tomimbang was the top Knight finisher, tying for 34th after shooting a 78 (+6) on Sunday to finish with a three-round total of 234 (+18)... Tomimbang's round was the low of the day for UCF... Classmate Stephanie Connelly was two strokes behind Tomimbang in a tie for 43rd with a total of 236 (+20)... The Knights will next compete at the Conference USA Championships in El Paso, Texas on April 14-16.

UTEP
UTEP tied for 11th place at the Arkansas-Little Rock Classic March 25 in Hot Springs, Ark... The Miners compiled rounds of 314, 313 and 317 for a two-day total of 944... Deborah Martinez led the Miners, tying for 17th place (78-75-77-230)... Shang-Fan Huang tied for 19th place (75-75-81-231), while Rosana Gomez tied for 60th place (86-79-79-244)... The Miners return to the course when they play in the Susie Mazwell Berning Classic Apr. 6-7 in Norman, Okla.
