With more than half of the conference season in the books, some key contests were played this afternoon. Memphis improved its undefeated streak to 10 straight matches with a 3-1 victory over SMU, while home teams East Carolina, Marshall, Southern Miss and UAB also picked up wins. UCF put its perfect 5-0-0 conference mark on the line and battled visiting Colorado College to a 0-0 tie.

Memphis 3, SMU 1

Junior forward Kylie Hayes scored the 34th goal of her career, to become the all time leading goal scorer in Memphis women's soccer history. Memphis beat SMU 3-1, to extend their home game winning steak to 8-0, as well as 10 straight matches since its last loss.

Freshman forward Krista Turner gave the Tigers their first goal, three minutes into the match. Turner beamed the ball from four yards out, into the net, after an assist from midfielder Emiko Schwab. A long cross from defender Kate Murphy midway through the first period to forward Vendula Strnadova gave Memphis a 2-0 lead going into halftime. The goal came after a diversion from senior Harumi Someya, who hopped over the pass to let Strnadova take the shot. The goal marked Strnadova's fifth of the season.

Allison Brill scored SMU's lone goal in the 57th minute of play. Brill nailed a shot from the top right side of the box, to cut Memphis' lead to one.

Hayes scored her eighth goal of the season today, to give the Tigers their final goal of the match. The goal came after a corner kick by Caroline Barrett, which was kicked around inside the box, before Hayes was able to get her foot on it, and put it in. Senior goalkeeper, Isabel Briones had a hand on all of SMU's shots on goal, including the one that slipped away.

UCF 0, Colorado College 0 (2ot)

Junior goalkeeper Geneva Sills posted her sixth shutout of the season and the 19th of her Colorado College career on Sunday, making a season-high 14 saves as the Tigers battled first-place UCF to a scoreless tie in a lightning-delayed match in Orlando, Fla. The contest was delayed for 17 minutes due to weather with 12:23 left in the first half.

CC, which won 2-0 at Southern Miss on Friday, now is undefeated (3-0-2) in its last five outings on the road dating back to early September. The Knights, who entered Sunday's contest with a perfect 5-0 mark in league play and now are 10-2-3 overall, finished with a 16-3 advantage in corner kicks to go with their 28-8 edge in shots attempted.

With just four matches remaining in the regular season, Colorado College is 7-4-3 overall and 2-2-1 in league play.

East Carolina 1, Rice 0

Freshman Amanda Broz's goal with three minutes to play in regulation lifted East Carolina to a 1-0 win over Rice Sunday afternoon at Bunting Field. The win is the Pirates first-ever against the Owls. Broz connected on a throw in from Nicole Moore on the left side of the field and was able to sneak her kick behind Rice's keeper for the lone goal of the contest. The Pirates registered five total shots on the day, four coming on goal. The ECU defense held the Owls to six shots, and just one on goal. Rice had only one shot heading into halftime.
